Who We Are

DeafLink is a proudly CODA-owned agency dedicated to bridging communication gaps for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community through the power of American Sign Language (ASL) and English. Rooted in lived experience and cultural understanding, we provide high-quality interpreting services that prioritize mutual respect and accessibility. We work in collaboration with all stakeholders (clients, Deaf consumers, and interpreters) to ensure that the best fit is sent to all assignments.

Based in the NY/NJ area, we serve a diverse range of settings — from medical and legal to educational, corporate, and social — ensuring that communication is never a barrier to connection, participation, or opportunity.

Our Mission

DeafLink’s mission is to serve our community by providing exceptional ASL interpreting services. We strive to fill requests quickly with mindfulness to the needs of our Deaf and Hard of Hearing consumers. We maintain a collaborative relationship with our clients that allows us to respond adaptively to any unforeseen situations to aid them in reaching their goals and objectives.

We aim, as a company, to advocate for Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals in our community to communicate freely, engage fully, and be understood clearly in all aspects of their lives.

What Sets Us Apart

Expertise: Our team is composed primarily of highly skilled, certified ASL interpreters as well as qualified, vetted interpreters with deep experience across medical, legal, educational, corporate, and community settings. We prioritize accuracy, professionalism, and cultural fluency to ensure communication is both clear and meaningful. On occasion, the owner, who is a certified ASL interpreter and native signer, is brought in as the initial interpreter in order to assess the Deaf consumer’s needs and match them with the right interpreter for their situation.

Commitment to Accessibility: We believe communication access is a right, not a privilege, and just makes good sense. That’s why we offer flexible services that go beyond traditional in-person interpreting — including virtual interpretation, remote video calls, and on-demand support — to meet clients wherever they are. We also have an unparalleled model for the hospital/medical arena. Every interpreter “owns” not only their piece/shift, but coordinates with other shifts and the office, allowing DeafLink to proactively reach out to hospital representatives and nursing supervisors, if after hours, for a seamless, optimal experience for all stakeholders.

Cultural Awareness: We understand that language is deeply rooted in culture. Our Deaf-friendly team values and reflects the cultural richness of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community, approaching every interaction with respect, awareness, and authenticity.

Thank you for choosing DeafLink—where communication is not just a service, but a link to achieving personal and professional goals.
